I finally got some read time after my 4 mile run this evening. I had been looking forward to getting ahead on 'Life of Pi' by Yann Martel that I checked from the library last weekend.
Sitting there on my night stand I discovered 5 other books there that have formed a stack of collection in the last several months. I thought it'd be interesting to take inventory of books that I am currently reading (some have been collecting dust as I circulate my reading as often as some people change their minds. Ha! It's great that these book sit close to where I sleep. This list has more fiction than my usual.
Lets starts with the newest
1) The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd
2) ProEvo by Asama AG Publishers
3) How To Be An Adult in Relationships by David Richo
4) To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
5) The 50 Greatest Love Letters of All Time by David H. Lowenherz
6) Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri
Now that I've got this list down, I'm going back to Life of Pi. The story has got me hooked.

Forget Chocolate, Blue Shorts Wonder Will Do
Yea, sometimes my hormones need to be in check. I don't think this is one of those times.
Blue Shorts Wonder will do for me what an overdose of chocolate does for millions.
Hellooooo, can I ask you about those shorts? You can run around my block anytime.

Cilantro Chutney
My cilantro chutney has been a success and now at least one person has asked me for the recipe :) WOW! I never thought of me as lil chef.
I'd like to credit my mother since what I've learned about Indian cooking has all been from watching her do her magic in the kitchen. She doesn't use recipes, measuring spoons, cups or whatnot. Old world style- it's all in her head. ;)
2 bunches of fresh Cilantro
3 garlic cloves
1 inch cube of fresh ginger
2 or 3 fresh squeezed lime juice
2 or 3 hot green chili peppers
1 tablespoon honey (I like to use raw honey)
1 teaspoon olive oil
Sea salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste
optional: add 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh red or green onions
and/or tomatoes
Remove the thick part of the stems from the cilantro and throw away.
Chop grind all the ingredients until even consistency and store in a ceramic container in the refrigerator. It can keep for 10 to 14 days or longer maybe. It always tastes best to me after the first day when all the ingredients have marinated. It goes great on sandwiches, salads, with just about everything.
Hope it turns out good.

As I Think, So I Become
- I absolutely love this quote. Siddharta is changing my life.
- Buddha (563 BC - 483 BC), Dhammapada
The thought manifests as the word; The word manifests as the deed;
The deed develops into habit; And habit hardens into character;
So watch the thought and its ways with care,
And let it spring from love
Born out of concern for all beings…
As the shadow follows the body,
As we think, so we become.
