Hill Country And The Heat

Our trip to the hill country was definitely memorable, and not just because of the record-breaking heat. Hills, rivers, wine and some peace and quiet was a great little get away.

First stop was a winery in the hill country called Grape something. I can't believe they can actually grow grapes here. It was 102 degrees that day but that didn't deter the tourists. A band playing some mellow tunes. It was so much fun people watching, making up stories about them while sitting back sipping on some Texas wine.

Fredricksburg, Texas and smiling.. feeling just a little tipsy from the pinot grigio. A very quaint little tourist town. The heat was almost intolerable.

I loved the bathtub on the patio deck at Bandera Station. Really, that was the only of cooling off aside from jumping in the Medina River. We did plenty of that too.

The hummingbirds made themselves at home.
